Many people suffer from anxiety from time to time in their lives and many people suffer at different levels. There is no specific way to completely stop you from being anxious however there are some activities that can help reduce it.

Get up early

Getting up early and jumping out of bed is a great way to start the day and reduce anxiety. If you wake up late, you might feel anxious about not getting all the tasks done that you have set yourself to complete throughout the day. Getting up early allows you to complete more tasks during the day and have plenty of time for them.

It will be hard at first to do this as it is not natural for you but it is a great way to overcome anxiety in the morning and make sure you are easing yourself into the day.

Hydrate

You have just been sleeping for 7+ hours straight, the first thing you should consider is drinking that glass of water that you put at the side of your bed before you went to sleep. If you do not make yourself a glass of water before you go sleep then you should probably start doing.

Remaining hydrated throughout the day is very important for your health but it also boosts your mood as well. When your body is dehydrated, it does not function to its maximum capabilities and that is the exact same for the brain as well.

Make your bed

A simple activity that a lot of us are capable of, even for the lazy ones, is making our bed. It is just an easy way of keeping your room organised and less messy so when you get home it does not feel like you have left it in a state.

It is the first win of the day if you look at it like that, which means it puts you on the path to continue winning throughout the day. Being successful is a great way to reduce your anxiety in school, work, the gym, and many other things.

Getting the blood flowing and pumping

Start going on a jog in the morning or maybe even going to the gym if it opens early. For a lot of people, exercising in the morning can help massively when combatting anxiety. That’s not to say it will work for everyone.

However, if you are a relatively active person then maybe you should consider implementing a workout in your morning routine or even a light jog/ run. This will produce endorphins which is a chemical reaction in the brain and can help you not only reduce anxiety but also improve your mood.

Yoga

A yoga session if you do not want to break a sweat too much is also a good way to exercise whilst relieving the stress of your muscles. Yoga is not only relaxing but it also stretches the muscles and prepares your body for whatever physical activity you look at doing next.

If you are working at home, a yoga exercise will be highly beneficial for your back. Sitting at the desk is not good for us so maybe even a couple of yoga exercises during your shift will keep your back healthy as well. However, doing it in the morning will relax your mind before you go to work.

Eat

There are many people that leave the house and go to work without eating a meal before they go out which is wrong. Something as little as a slice of toast or anything like that will do you good in the morning. Especially with a glass of orange which will give you vitamin C. Many people also take a multivitamin in the morning to make sure that they get all the vital vitamins they need for the rest of the day.

Having a well-balanced diet not only puts you in a good mood but also fills you with all the right energy you need for the day. You do not want to eat something stodgy as this will make you feel lethargic.

If you have spare time, meditation 

You have just done a lot and you have not even started work yet so maybe start looking at that relaxing before you put your mind to work. Stay away from that phone screen and consider meditating for five minutes thinking about absolutely nothing.

There are plenty of benefits with meditation and if you do not have the time to do it before work then start looking at doing it after work, it could be highly beneficial for yourself. Some of the benefits that come with meditating are: increasing self-awareness, focusing on the present, and reducing negative emotions.

Meditation is highly recommended if you have symptoms of anxiety so it might be something you consider in your daily routine. It will help you get past those anxious thoughts that you have during the day.
