For many of us, the Covid-19 pandemic has taken a toll on our libido.

If you’ve been feeling like your sex life or sexual energy just isn’t what it used to be, please know that you’re certainly not alone, especially right now, as we finally transition out of a tiresome two years of pandemic living.
For so many of us women, feeling sexy and confident in ourselves inspires a higher sex drive and stronger desire to get it on! Before the pandemic, a lot of us looked forward to getting all dressed up and pretty for a night out on the town - perfecting our hair and makeup, and spritzing on our most divine feminine fragrance that we knew our romantic partner or crush just couldn’t resist. Whether going out to a new restaurant, bar, club, or even the movie theatre - simply stepping out as our best selves did wonders to bring us into a different state, vibration, and frequency.
But over the past couple of years, these simple pleasures and freedoms have been stolen from us - and in these mundane times, it’s been more difficult to find or harness any sexual energy or excitement.
In fact, as we all know, the pandemic has taken a lot out of us on more than just a sexual level. It’s impacted us mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, leaving us to feel energetically drained and, in many cases, depressed. So it would make complete sense that our endorphins, libidos and sex drives are not quite flowing through our sacral chakras the way that they once did, and the way that they’re intended to.
If you’re not familiar with the 7 main chakra systems that flow through every human body, it’s ok! Here’s a quick briefing to introduce you, but I do encourage you to learn more about this powerful system in your own time:
The sacral chakra is the colour orange, and it is located about the width of four fingers below the belly button. Known to be directly linked to sexuality and creativity, this chakra is an energy wheel that spins in a clockwise direction. It is also, however, susceptible to becoming blocked with heavy emotional distress, fear, anger, shame, frustration, and/or anxiety - and it seems that the Covid-19 pandemic has been magnifying these feelings in all of us.
In this article, I’d like to offer you a few helpful tips in order to bring that positive, exciting and sexual spark back to you! To be completely honest, I definitely find that I need to tap into these tips myself these days. I’m usually very confident, sexual, outgoing and fun in the bedroom, but I must admit that I’ve been feeling the complete opposite and dormant due to pandemic living. It really sucks, but the tips I’m about to share will help to shake you out of that funk.
So without further ado, let’s get proactive! Here are my 5 tips to unblock your sacral chakra and increase your libido:
1: Do a few yoga poses daily that are designed to balance and open your sacral chakra.
The best ones are goddess pose, camel pose, wide legged forward fold, reverse warrior pose, and reclined bound angle pose. If you’re unfamiliar with these poses, there are many wonderful YouTube tutorials out there, or a quick Google search can provide a demonstration.
2: Focus on eating a healthy diet enriched with foods containing libido-boosting vitamins and minerals.
Some foods that are excellent for increasing sex drive include bananas, avocados, and figs. These three provide vitamins and minerals that help to increase blood flow to the genitals… who knew?! You could also try lobster, crab, pine nuts, and oysters if you desire.
3: Get yourself some good quality sleep (and enough of it).
The better and deeper we sleep, the more energy we have and the better a mood we’re likely to be in. You can use aromatherapy scents, or even listen to calming music or frequencies to help you settle into a deeper state of relaxation during bedtime.
4: Get comfortable with experimenting, playing and bringing yourself to climax.
It is proven that masturbation can increase your sex drive. I know a lot of women can be shy around this topic, but the truth is, the more we learn to stimulate ourselves to have these amazing orgasms, the more we want to do it with our partners.
5: Buy yourself some new sexy nightwear that makes you feel excited and beautiful!
Put aside those baggy, mismatched pyjamas you’ve been wearing (that we’ve all been wearing) through this Covid period. It’s time to treat yourself to a new and sexier ensemble that will allow you to feel confident and even uncontrollable in the bedroom! If you’ve gotten into the same routine with your partner, you can re-spark the flame by planning a sexy night and surprising them in your fun and flirty new delicates.
The good news is, we all have the power to change our energy field and re-harness our sexual prowess!
You deserve to feel that sexual excitement and high drive you once felt before pandemic days killed the mood. I hope that these tips are able to help you unblock your sacral chakra, so you can get your libido back to where it needs to be. Stay sexy, ladies!
