Can’t decide on a go-to summer shake? Try mixing two different flavours into one. We recommend this two-layer, mango-berry shake that’s bursting with flavour and antioxidants. Aside from being a rich source of malic, citric, and tartaric acids that help sustain your alkaline reserve, mango juice is also a great natural remedy for preventing heat stroke during a scorching summer day. The fact that it tastes great is just a bonus!
INGREDIENTS:
Berry Layer
1⁄2 scoop – berry protein powder
1⁄2 cup – blueberries
1⁄2 cup – blackberries
1 tsp – lime juice
1⁄4 cup – plain Greek yogurt
1⁄2 tsp – flax seeds
1⁄4 cup – orange juice
3 – ice cubes
Mango Layer
1⁄2 scoop – vanilla protein powder
1⁄2 – ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced
1 tsp – lime juice
1 tsp – turmeric
1⁄4 cup – mango nectar
1⁄4 cup – water
3 – ice cubes
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all of your berry-layer ingredients in a blender and pulse for 30 to 40 seconds, or until smooth. Pour in a tall glass or mason jar. Combine all of your mango-layer ingredients in a blender and pulse for 30 to 40 seconds, or until smooth. Pour slowly over the berry layer.
