Are you striving for your ideal physique? While perfection may not truly exist, many of us are still in pursuit of the best version of our bodies—and that’s perfectly fine. It’s important to approach this goal with a balanced mindset, one that eases the pressure and allows for self-compassion as you aim for your personal best.

I’ve spent much of my life focused on maintaining a fit, attractive body, having grown up in the worlds of modeling and acting where the pursuit of physical perfection is often emphasized. Over time, however, I’ve come to realize that achieving a balanced and healthy physique isn’t just about external effort—it’s also about understanding and working with the power of the unconscious mind.

If you're looking to transform your physique, you must understand the prime directives of the unconscious mind. Why? Because one of its core functions is to preserve the body. The unconscious mind is like a machine that never stops working, constantly running in the background, maintaining the body’s health and integrity—even while you sleep. It’s the driving force behind your dreams and, on a deeper level, keeps you aligned with your moral compass or higher self.

The unconscious mind is responsible for storing memories and emotions, organizing them in ways that can protect you. It even has the power to repress memories until you're ready to handle them. Think of how often you hear of individuals who only deal with childhood trauma later in life—this is the unconscious mind at work, shielding you until the right time.

Beyond emotional regulation, the unconscious mind is crucial to maintaining physical energy. It generates, stores, distributes, and transmits energy, while also managing instincts and habits. When you want to change a habit—whether it's starting a new fitness routine or improving your diet—it’s through repetition that your unconscious mind adopts this new pattern.

As a Reiki Master, I’ve found that one of the most remarkable aspects of the unconscious mind is its ability to organize and sustain a healthy blueprint of the body. When we are born, our bodies are naturally free from stress, illness, and blockages. Through practices like meditation and Reiki, you can access your unconscious mind’s blueprint to breathe life back into that original state of health, giving your body the opportunity to heal itself.

If you're serious about helping your unconscious mind support your journey to the best physique possible, there are a few key principles to keep in mind. First, the unconscious mind doesn’t process negatives. This means that whatever you focus on, whether positive or negative, it believes you want and will bring more of into your life. The old adage, "What you think about, you bring about," holds true here.

Additionally, the unconscious mind always seeks the path of least resistance. If it's used to doing something halfway, it won’t automatically ramp up the effort on its own. You need to consciously feed it new patterns and habits. Finally, remember that the unconscious mind takes everything personally. How you perceive yourself and the world is reflected in your body and mind.

By understanding and working with the prime directives of the unconscious mind, you can create a stronger, healthier, and more balanced physique—one that aligns with both your physical and mental well-being.
